Designed by Dan Maples, nationally known for creating some of the Carolina's top courses, Rocky River Golf Club is the premier public course in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The present turf conditions are excellent for having just opened in August 1997, and with continued enhancements the Rocky River Golf Club at Concord will be one of the finest facilities in the Carolina's. Rocky River Golf Club is owned by the City of Concord.

Rocky River is a very challenging golf course that utilizes many of the existing features of the area to provide a natural and very aesthetically appealing track. The routing flows through the existing contours of the land effortlessly, thus creating a continuous succession of sensational holes. Beautiful rock outcroppings and various species of native wetland grasses are featured along the edges of gently rolling fairways adding a touch of ruggedness and mystique.

Large contoured greens make accurate iron play a necessity, for a ball played to the side of the green, opposite the hole, will result in higher scores. Playing the course from tee to green at a 4 1/2 hour pace of play is not overly demanding, but again, ball placement is a must. Errant drives and iron shots that find their way into any of our natural areas, such as wetlands and seeded fescue will be lost forever. There are four sets of tees allowing play to encompass a full range of opportunities for all who delight in the game. The course's impeccably manicured tees, greens and fairways demonstrate the City's commitment to offering superior conditions to the residents and guests.

Rocky River appeals to all skill levels of golfer from beginners to scratch. There are four sets of tees allowing play to encompass a full range of opportunities for all who delight in the game. The expected pace of play clocks in right at 4 hours 30 minutes, with starting times scheduled on 10 minute intervals. Below you will find the U.S.G.A.
